This house was built between 1905 and 1910 by Perry Baptist Church to serve as a pastorium and was used as such until 1947. However, in 1912 when the church was between pastors, the house was rented to Dr. D. B. Dobbins and Mr. H. S. Smith who occupied the house jointly with their new brides. Interestingly enough the first thing to be built on the lot was a hole in the ground for a well according to the Houston Home Journal of 1905. In 1947 the property was sold to the Dudley Jones family who lived here until 2014.
