Oldfield Missionary Baptist Church was founded in April 1945 by Mamie Newberry, Preston Williams, and John T. Newberry. In a conversation with Mamie’s grandson, Melvin Fleming, Jr., it was stated that the church began as a house church just down the street from the church’s present location. The cornerstone of the building records the names of the Deacons and Pastors of the church.
