W. D. Day built a mercantile store here about 1870 which he operated until his death in 1909. In March 1911 the Perry Loan and Savings Bank purchased the building and remodeled it to become a “banking house” until 1960 when it was sold and became commercial property. The building burned in 2008 and a beautiful outdoor dining area was created in the vacant space. Today it is known as Patio 901, an outdoor venue serving food and drink.
